Purpose of Life

When God created the Redwoods, molded Waimea and placed rainbows in the sky He had something in mind - HIS Glory.  Throughout the Bible we are repeatedly told that God is "God centered" and that He desires His glory.  In Colossians 1:16 it tells us that God created us for a relationship with Him and that this relationship was to bring Him Glory.  At first this seems odd - for God to be so consumed with Himself.  When we try and make everything revolve around us it's disasterous, so, why is it a good thing for God to seek to be the center of everything?  First, we may think that we are really great but in all honesty we aren't.  We don't deserve to have everything revolve around us but GOD really is that great.  Without even touching on all that God has done, He is worthy of  being the center of everything simply for "WHO" He is.  The second important thing to remember is that God created everything to function this way.  For example, when the planets revolve around the sun things are good - it's the way things were made to function.  But, what if the earth said, "I no longer want to revovle around the sun - I'm going to spin off over here and created my own solar system and have everything revolve around me."  What would happen?  It would be horrible.  Life would end.  Earth would be ruined because it wasn't designed to revolve around itself but to revolve around the sun.  Well, God create everything to bring Him glory and like our universe, things are good when they function as they should.

Have you thought  about the fact that God's purpose for everyting in your life today is HIS Glory?
